Educational Segment - Martin Luther King’s “I Have A Dream”
Supriyo did an education segment with a creative twist! He extracted various lines from the American’s legendary American civil rights movement leader, Martin Luther King’s famous and outstanding speech – I HAVE A DREAM.
The audience was first asked to read the different excerpts from the speech to practice using vocal variety, pitch, pauses and the injection of emotions. The original version of the politician’s speech was played back in sound bites with audience spotting the differences and how the usage of speech techniques can rev up emotions of the listeners and became of the defining moments in American History.

Kheng Chuan who was preparing for his advance project, presented “The Sales Training”, where he attempted to sell the exercise gadget – The Rebounder. Armed with his mini trampoline, he did a live demonstration on how one can use the trampoline to aid in exercising. A definitely entertaining experience, coupled with humor and persuasion. Amused members even tried their hands at the exercise gadget, contributing with positive feedback.
June Tan, on her Project 5 speech demonstrated on the innovative ways of using the mirco-fibre mop. Through the use of body language, (one of the requisites in P5), she showed the audience the benefits of using the mop. Cliff Ngooi, who took on the role as the Table Topic Master, did the most innovative table topics in history!! He asked members to pick a piece of paper from one glass containing half of the topic and another piece of paper from another glass containing the second half of the question. Thus through mixing and matching, a question is formed, tickling the brains of the members. Innovative!
A familiar face, Theresa , who was both the General Evaluator and Language Evaluator had once again impressed the room with her eloquence and charm, giving the thumbs up for the night’s meeting.
