___________
It was a resounding success & accomplishment for the Lion City Toastmasters Club and a perfect finale for the last chapter meeting of Year 2007 held on 10 Dec 2007, Monday.
It was announced by our Distinguished Toastmasters (DTM) & Past International Director (PID), Mr. Augustine Lee, that during Mr. Goh Kheng Chuan's reign as the Lion City Toastmasters Club President for the Term 2006/2007, his competent leadership has steered the Lion City Toastmasters club to achieve the status of "President's Distinguished Club" 2006 , fulfilling 10/10 goals to qualify for the prestigious title!
Congratulations to Mr. Goh Kheng Chuan for excellent captaincy and the exco team of 2006/2007 for this distinguished title!
We were very honored to have Mr. Richard Sng, of Brillant Advanced Toastmasters Club, graced the chapter meeting as the Language Evaluator.
Also joining as guests were, Area Z2 Governor, Miss Ng Kwee Choo, who brought guests Mr. Friedhelm Maur, President of Pudong Toastmasters club, Shanghai, China and his wife, Mdm. K. Beate Richter, Distinguished Toastmaster (DTM) & Area 21 Governor, Division E, District 85P of China.
There is also our guest, Mr. Lawrence Cheng, who is ardently striving to experience the Toastmasters journey again. Thank you for visiting us. We enjoyed your presence and we hope to see you soon!
Ex-member, Belinda Lou, had also made a surprise visit to the club after a long hiatus! She had been keeping up-to-date with the club's development through this very blog and we were really glad to have her visit us again! Welcome back Belinda!
During the night's chapter meeting, new members, Jason Bay & Darren Joe made their maiden speeches; Project 1 - "Icebreaker" where we learnt more about them.
William Tan, our fervent toastmaster did his Project 2 as well. He had also generously sponsored the Christmas Chocolate Log Cake.
Thank you so much William!
Our sporty Toastmasters of the Evening, Mr. Ting Chee Kheong, donned a Santa Claus hat to add to the festive atmosphere. His wit and comic-timing never failed to bring laughters to the club's meeting.
To celebrate the joyous holiday season, LionCity Toastmasters Club had a mini-gift exchange session where each member brought a mysterious present to swap with one another - and so, everyone returned home with a gift and a great smile!
In close, the LionCity Toastmasters Club wishes everyone Happy Holidays & a wonderful 2008 ahead!
