Speech Workshop Postponed to 24 Nov 2008

Dear Members & Guests,

Since 27 October 2008 has been declared as Deepavali Public Holiday, we will not be having any meeting on that day as the venue, Geek Terminal, is not open on that day as well.

As such, after consultation with the Trainer, Mr. Ng Seng Chuan, we have decided to postpone the speech workshop to 24 November 2008 instead.

Synopsis

Ever found yourself not knowing what to do when you are faced with the prospect of giving a speech? You may be a Toastmaster, but even with the specifications provided in the communications manual, you have no idea how to make it work.

Often enough, even if you know what the requirements are, you are at a loss as to how to decide on a subject topic. Whoever you are, and whatever your quest in public speaking may be, all your concerns will be addressed in this first-ever seminar on the Toastmasters concept of speech education.

The Trainer’s Profile: Ng Seng Chuan ATM-Silver

The trainer is Ng Seng Chuan, sole proprietor of Rhetoric Speech Consultants, a speech training centre specializing in the teaching of phonetics and pronunciation, as well as speech improvement and public speaking.
In addition to being an experienced speaker with 25 years of professional involvement, Seng Chuan holds numerous diplomas in speech training (FLCM, LTCL, ALAM). A member Lion City TMC and a mentor at Tanglin TMC, he holds the rank of ATMG, and won the championship trophy for Impromptu Speech at the District 80 contest in Hong Kong in 2007.
