25th September Meeting - Laughing the Monday Blues Away...

25th September 2006

Augustine, the Sergent-At-Arms of the evening (SAA) made a novel suggestion of using the word “oxymoron”, throughout the evening’s Toastmaster’s session. The evening saw some creative usage of the word in some instances. A clever ploy!

The Table Topics session revolved round the theme "Imagination". Some Topics included hypothetical questions such as "If you were to have a tattoo, where would you have and why", "If you were to create a SILLY public holiday, what would it be and why". The ingenious session saw some creative stories conjured by the members, tickling the audiences’ funny bones. Our comical Club President won the round with his funny pick-up line.

One of the night’s highlights was Chee Kheong's speech who delivered the speech in an impromptu manner. He titled his speech "A Toast to Goh Kheng Chuan".
He engaged the audience’s attention by requesting each individual to describe the Club’s President, Goh Kheng Chuan in one word.

Chee Kheong cleverly summarized the words and turned them into an acronym which was both entertaining and funny. Truly a good method to laugh the Monday blues away!
